Both of these rotors are equipped with multiple concave teeth, spinning in opposite directions to perform their magic. The precision gap between these rotors, and the casing that surrounds them, is a mere 5 to 10 microns, highlighting the advanced engineering at play. The main rotor, or male rotor, is generally powered by an engine or an electric motor, while the companion rotor, the female, is driven by a dynamic oil film resulting from oil injection, or by synchronized gears, which ingeniously prevent any metal-to-metal contact during operation. As this mechanical ballet unfolds, the rotor grooves are filled with gas at the intake port. With the rotors' smooth rotation, these grooves are sealed by the casing wall, forming a high-efficiency compression chamber. In this chamber, lubricating oil is introduced to enhance the sealing, cooling, and lubrication processes. As rotations persist, the compression chamber's volume begins to dwindle, compressing the gas into a meticulously blended oil-gas mixture, ultimately expelled through the exhaust port, thus completing an efficient cycle of intake, compression, and exhaust.
