Designed with several concave teeth, each rotor spins in opposing directions with a minuscule gap of just 5 to 10 microns between them and between the casing. The main rotor, also known as the male rotor, is typically powered by either an engine or an electric motor. Meanwhile, the female rotor is ingeniously driven by an oil film created through oil injection or synchronized gears, which ensures a seamless operation devoid of metal-to-metal contact. During this sophisticated process, the intake port allows rotor grooves to fill with gas, which then gets sealed off by the casing wall to form a compression chamber. As an added marvel, lubricating oil is injected to seal, cool, and lubricate. As the rotors elegantly rotate, the compression chamber's volume reduces, compressing the gas into an oil-gas mixture. This mixture is then discharged through the exhaust port, completing an efficient intake-compression-exhaust cycle.
