The gap between these rotors and the surrounding casing is an astounding 5 to 10 microns, ensuring precision and efficiency. The main rotor, or male rotor, is typically powered by an engine or electric motor, while the female rotor is driven by a seamless oil film or synchronized gears. This innovative design ensures no metal-to-metal contact during operation, promoting longevity and performance. During its operation, gas fills the rotor grooves as they pass the intake port. As the rotors rotate, these grooves are sealed off by the casing wall, forming a highly efficient compression chamber. Lubricating oil is then injected into this chamber, serving a trifecta of functions: sealing, cooling, and lubricating.
