The operating principle of a single-screw compressoris ingeniously achieved through the harmonious interplay of a pair of intermeshing helical rotors, aptly termed the male and female rotors. Each rotor boasts several intricately designed concave teeth and rotates in opposing directions. The precision-engineered gap between the rotors and the casing is maintained at a minuscule 5 to 10 microns. The main rotor, also known as the male rotor, is typically powered by an engine or electric motor, while the female rotor is driven by a sophisticated oil film created through oil injection or synchronized gears, ensuring a seamless drive process devoid of metal-to-metal contact. During operation, the rotor grooves eagerly fill with gas as they encounter the intake port. With each rotor rotation, the grooves are effectively sealed off by the casing wall, creating a dynamic compression chamber. At this stage, lubricating oil is expertly injected into the compression chamber, serving multiple roles of sealing, cooling, and lubricating. As the rotors continue their rotation, the chamber's volume progressively decreases, resulting in the compression of gas into an oil-gas mixture, which is then efficiently discharged through the exhaust port, successfully completing a cycle of intake, compression, and exhaust.
