Product Description
The operating principle of a single-screw compressor is achieved through a pair of intermeshing helical rotors, known as the male and female rotors. Both rotors have several concave teeth and rotate in opposite directions. The gap between the rotors and between the casing and the rotors is only 5 to 10 microns. The main rotor (male rotor) is typically driven by an engine or electric motor, while the other rotor (female rotor) is driven by an oil film formed by oil injection or by synchronized gears, ensuring that there is no metal-to-metal contact during the drive process. During operation, the rotor grooves fill with gas as they pass the intake port. As the rotors rotate, the rotor grooves are sealed off by the casing wall, forming a compression chamber. Subsequently, lubricating oil is injected into the compression chamber, serving to seal, cool, and lubricate. As the rotors continue to rotate, the volume of the compression chamber gradually decreases, compressing the gas into an oil-gas mixture, which is ultimately discharged through the exhaust port, completing a cycle of intake-compression-exhaust.
