The operating principle of a single-screw compressorIn the elegant dance of engineering precision and efficiency, our single-screw compressors operate through a sophisticated mechanism involving a pair of intermeshing helical rotors, artfully referred to as the male and female rotors. These rotors, designed with intricate concave teeth, rotate in contrasting directions within a perfectly synchronized space. The precision of this engineering marvel is highlighted by the minute gap of just 5 to 10 microns between the rotors and their casing. The principal rotor, or the male rotor, is powered by a robust engine or electric motor. Meanwhile, the secondary rotor, the female rotor, is kinetically driven by an oil film created through precise oil injection or synchronized gears, ensuring a seamless drive devoid of metal contact. As the rotors turn with mechanical grace, their grooves draw in gas from the intake port, and upon rotation, these grooves are sealed by the casing wall, thus forming a contained compression chamber. In this chamber, a carefully measured injection of lubricating oil occurs, serving multiple roles such as sealing, cooling, and lubrication. As the rotors continue their elegant rotation, the compression chamber diminishes in volume, efficiently compressing the gas into an oil-gas amalgam, which is then released through the exhaust port, completing the cycle of intake, compression, and exhaust in a seamless sequence.
