These rotors are designed with intricately crafted concave teeth that rotate in opposite directions, ensuring absolute precision. The gap between these rotors, and between the casing and rotors, is a mere 5 to 10 microns, highlighting the meticulous engineering involved. Typically, the robust main rotor (male rotor) is driven by a powerful engine or efficient electric motor, while the other rotor (female rotor) is propelled by a smooth oil film from oil injection, or synchronized gears, ensuring seamless operation without metal-to-metal contact. As the operation commences, the rotor grooves fill gracefully with gas as they maneuver past the intake port. With each rotation, these grooves are meticulously sealed by the casing wall, creating a compression chamber. At this stage, lubricating oil is expertly injected into the chamber, serving multiple purposes: sealing, cooling, and lubricating. As the rotors continue their synchronized rotation, the compression chamber's volume diminishes, compressing the gas into an oil-gas mixture. This mixture is then efficiently discharged through the exhaust port, completing the elegant cycle of intake, compression, and exhaust.
