The operating principle of a single-screw compressoris achieved through a pair of intermeshing helical rotors, known as the male and female rotors. These precision-engineered rotors boast several concave teeth and rotate in opposite directions, ensuring seamless operation. The gap between the rotors and the casing is meticulously maintained at only 5 to 10 microns, exemplifying cutting-edge engineering. The main rotor (male rotor) is typically powered by an engine or electric motor, while the female rotor is expertly driven by an oil film through oil injection or synchronized gears, preventing any metal-to-metal contact. During operation, gas fills the rotor grooves as they pass the intake port. As rotation continues, the rotor grooves are sealed by the casing wall, creating a compression chamber. Lubricating oil is then injected, facilitating sealing, cooling, and lubrication. With continued rotation, the compression chamber's volume decreases, compressing the gas into an oil-gas mixture, and discharging it through the exhaust port, completing the intake-compression-exhaust cycle.
