The operating principle of a single-screw compressoris a marvel of engineering, achieved through a pair of intermeshing helical rotors, known as the male and female rotors. These expertly crafted rotors boast several concave teeth, rotating ingeniously in opposite directions. The precision engineering is evident in the minimal gap of only 5 to 10 microns between the rotors, as well as between the casing and the rotors. The main rotor (male rotor) is robustly driven by an engine or electric motor, while the companion rotor (female rotor) elegantly operates via an oil film formed by oil injection or synchronized gears, ensuring there is no metal-to-metal contact during the entire drive process. As the operation begins, the rotor grooves fill with gas as they gracefully pass the intake port. With each rotation, the rotor grooves are meticulously sealed off by the casing wall, creating a compression chamber. Lubricating oil is then artfully injected into the compression chamber, serving the crucial roles of sealing, cooling, and lubricating. As the elegant dance of the rotors continues, the volume of the compression chamber gradually decreases, expertly compressing the gas into a harmonious oil-gas mixture, which is ultimately discharged through the exhaust port, completing a sophisticated cycle of intake-compression-exhaust.
